An orthopedic surgeon from Southern California, Dr. Jonathan Nissanoff, says that he does not advise anyone doing this practice because it may cause a severe injury in the nerves on a person’s neck. He also added that at Sydney’s age she is already growing, in this way she is just stretching her skin but her neck won’t stretch anymore.

Despite knowing what Dr. Jonathan Nissanoff said, it still didn’t stop Sydney from doing it. She still went on and still considered adding the 12th ring even after hearing what the doctors said. She also thought of making many out of her appearance. She even said that she would like to work as a specialty model, but exploiting herself was not her original plan. “However, it seems to be my calling”, she said.
