First Choice
Kirk Alexander is an ordinary 48-year-old man from Salem Oregon. Alexander loves pizza so much that he has spent the last 10 years ordering every single day for 10 years. Suddenly, he stopped ordering. The Dominos staff could not wrap their heads around why. Then they got their answer.
Loved By Everyone
Pizza is one of those foods that we can’t seem to avoid. It is so delicious and loved by everyone. Are you aware that over 3 billion pizzas are sold each year in the US? Well, we know how Americans are…
A Regular
Kirk orders from the same branch every single day. The staff knows him and the manager Sarah Fuller said,” he orders every day, every other day. She’s the general manager at the Domino’s branch Kirk normally orders from. “His order pops up on the screen because he orders online. So we see it come across the screen and we’re like, ‘Oh, Kirk’s order.’”
Forming Connection
In 2009 Fuller began working at Dominos. She started out as a delivery driver and got to know Kirk rather well. He was a quiet man but she learned a few things. He worked from home, he rarely left the house, and he had a history of health problems.
Neighbors
Alexander’s neighbors said that he didn’t always open the door. One neighbor, Robert Lalonde who lives across the street said he had knocked several times but only on rare occasions he would answer.
Good Guy
However, this didn’t mean anything bad about him. Another neighbor went out of his way to say that Kirk was a good guy, just different. Kirk helped his neighbors several times, especially with fixing computers.
Very Familiar
In terms of knowing the employees at the closest branch to him, Sarah said: “Our delivery drivers he knows really well because obviously he has conversations with them at the door.” This makes sense since Kirk orders from them on an almost daily basis.
11 Days With No Order
After 10 years of ordering every single day, one day his order did not come through. The employees felt unsettled right away. They initially thought that he was on vacation. Maybe he was just seeing his family!
Continuing Like Normal
For the next days, the staff reasoned that Kirk was just out of town. They returned to the usual activity and were sure to see his order again soon. When this did not happen they grew concerned.
A Friend To The Employees
With more time, more delivery drivers started to ask Fuller about Alexander. They paid attention that his orders were not appearing and they did not know why. Fuller took the matter into her hands and checked the system. She found that Kirk did not order for 11 days!
Out Of Character
Fuller knew Kirk for 10 years now and nothing like this ever happened. 11 days with no pizza? Unheard of! The staff thought they were overreacting but they had an inkling that something was wrong. They knew something was going on.
Enjoyed Each Item
Sarah knew deep down that this was strange. Kirk had been a dedicated customer for 10 years and he wouldn’t just stop ordering without a reason. All the staff knew what a loyal customer he was, but also a friend.
A Drive-By
Not only was a customer and friend but he was part of their family. The entire staff knew that it took just 8 minutes to get to his house and how to get there without navigation. They started to consider that maybe he was ordering from somewhere else.
Trying To Understand
The staff got used to delivering to Kirk every day. They were excited when they saw his name show on the screen. They started to think that maybe he was ordering from somewhere new. They started to get concerned.

Unanswered
While Kirk was a loyal customer, he didn’t have regular order. He would basically order something new every time, trying every item on the menu from pizza to pasta to everything in between.
Always Surprising Him
He wasn’t the type to just order a simple pizza. He gave everything on the menu a chance and it was exciting to serve him. Even when they came up with new items, he was willing to taste it.
Reaching Out To 911
With the time, the employees started to get stressed that there was another reason that he wasn’t ordering. Fuller had enough. She sent a driver to see what was up with Kirk.
Calling For Help
Tracey Hamblen, a delivery driver at Dominos was given the job to check on Kirk. He exited his car and saw the lights in Kirks’s house on. Then he heard sounds coming from the TV. He was clearly at home.
Checking Things Out
May 8th was a slow night at Dominos and Fuller decided that she had to do something. She instructed her delivery man to check out the situation and make sure everything was okay.
Overwhelmed
Tracey took on the task with courage but he wasn’t quite sure what he would see when he approached Kirk’s door. He wished that he would return to his coworkers with good news but he could never be too sure.
His Findings
Tracey noticed the house was lit which made his face cheer up. Why would the lights be on if Kirk was not at home? But then why did the orders stop? His smile quickly went away when he realized this was not going to be good news.
Ignoring Him
Hamblen very calmly knocked on the door once. No response. He continued knocking but heard no response on the other hand. He took out his phone and called him but it went to voicemail. What could he do now?
No Answer
Fuller recollected on what occurred and said, “He wasn’t answering his door but there were lights on.” She also said that after calling Kirk several times Tracey decided it was best to return for help.
Making The Decision
Tracey returned to the restaurant and told the staff about the situation. They decided the best thing to do was to call 911. Everyone was feeling a bit nervous. What could be going on?
Lucky Charm
Tracey was persistent with his knockings. After not receiving an answer enough was enough. He had to do something about it. This is why he returned to the restaurant to fill the rest in. They were not going to ignore this.
Sigh Of Relief
The staff got together to think of a plan. Hamblen decided the best course of action. He called the operator and said, “Well, I need some help on what to do, it could be an emergency.”
A Humbling Experience
He explained the situation calmly. He said that Kirk had been ordering for 10 years every day and suddenly stop. After giving all the details, he was transferred to the Marion County sheriff’s department.
Explaining The Situation
Hamblen did his best to explain thoroughly and emphasize that it had been 11 days since Kirk ordered. That hadn’t happened in 11 years and was quite out of the ordinary. He was always consistent.
“Since you guys are superheroes, we’re gonna send you to Captain America: Civil War.”
Legendary Story
Right after receiving the call, the sheriff decided to go to Alexander’s home. They weren’t quite sure what they would find but they went anyways. They began screaming Kirk’s name as they banged on the door.
Hearing
The police heard him yelling inside for help so they took action right away, breaking the door down. The paramedics rushed inside and took him to the hospital. The reports indicated that he had experienced minor strokes in his past.
Super Supportive
The police were tipped off that Kirk was inside when they heard a faint noise inside. They recognized a human being requesting help and they could not ignore that. When they opened the door, they saw Kirk there. Lying helpless.
Found At Last
Kirk needed urgent medical attention. If the police were called just a day later he may not have recovered. The staff saved his life. Wow, can you believe that?
Astounding Reward
Kirk was not on any vacation. He suffered a stroke and the ambulance arrived in the knick of time. Thankfully they were able to stabilize him. They had no way to tell how long he was passed out for.
Lucky
The doctors were able to treat him and ultimately safe his life. They reported that he would make a full recovery. The staff at Dominos were over the moon. They said on the news that they are like a family and they were so happy to help.
Help Recover
One of the staff members, Jenny Seiber said that they wanted to deliver him flowers. They wanted Kirk to know that people cared about him, which would possibly help him recover even faster.
First Day
The staff went to visit Kirk and noticed that he was not fully himself. He couldn’t say anything besides yes and no. The next time Seiber went to visit him she said he was doing a bit better and was moved to a rehabilitation center in the hospital.
Very Tired
While it’s clear he is exhausted they said he was making a beautiful recovery. The director of public relations at Dominos headquarters admitted how happy she was with the staff there and what they di for this man. She said this kind of action matches their customer service expectations.
Proud Of The Team
She went on to express how proud she was of her staff, but it was not unexpected. This was very consistent with the character of the dominos staff. They treated their customers in the area like family.
Many Stories
According to Jenny, this wasn’t a rare thing that the store was assisting their customers. They always helped their customers They were big supporters of customer service and staying dedicated to their communities.
Doing Their Job
As for the workers, they didn’t see this as a big deal. They were just doing their work the best that they could and checking up on their loyal customers. They had to do something about it.
Inspiring
The staff took care of the entire situation incredibly and it was motivating. The media heard about this story and it went viral. It even spread all around the world. But this was not the end.
Interviews
Sarah Fuller went on Good Morning America along with Jenna Seiber, the assistant manager of Dominos. They needed to discuss the situation and answer a series of questions. They were thanked for coming and being open to talking about what happened.
Updates
They also went on air to share about Kirks’ condition. Seiber informed the host that she had gone to see him three times since he was brought to the hospital.
Out Of It
She continued and said that the first day she saw him he was completely out of it. All he could say was yes and no but finally by the third visit he was sent to the rehabilitation unit.
Big Surprise
The two employees on the news were given the news that completely shocked them. They said, “Since you guys are superheroes, we’re gonna send you to Captain America: Civil War.” More was to come.
Las Vegas
Also, the managers of Dominos and Tracey Hamlin, the delivery driver, were sent to the Domino’s Worldwide Rally. This event is located n Las Vegas for strictly Dominos members. This was just part of what they deserved for their actions.
Appreciation
The staff was getting worldwide appreciation from everyone. Then the county sheriffs department said, “Thanks to the quick actions of Mr. Hamblen, Mr. Alexander is in stable condition at the Salem Hospital.”
Personal Thanks
Tracey Hamblen got his thanks for his immediate actions and quick response. He went on his own time to check out the situation and really putting himself first. For that, he should be commended.
Visiting Often
Days went by and the staff continued their visits to the hospital. They wanted to ensure that Kirk was getting everything he needed to feel comfortable. They intended to make him feel secure.
On The Mend
As of now, Kirk is getting the help he needs in the hospital. Hopefully, he can go back home soon and continue his route. We hope he will be back in his daily orders shortly!
