Hacksaw Ridge
Desmond Doss was a combat medic during World War II who earned a Bronze Star Medal. At the Battle of Okinawa, he amazingly saved the lives of 75 wounded infantrymen atop Hacksaw Ridge, for this he received the Medal of Honor. Moreover, he became the first conscientious objector to receive such a distinguished medal.
