Biological Clock
Screenwriter Dale Launer shared some riveting details about My Counsin Vinny in an interview. Apparently, Tomei’s famous scene about her biological clock was not in the script’s first draft. However, the president of the studio asked for an additional scene where Mona Lisa complains about not getting attention. Launer was hesitant, fearing this could be an overdone cliche, but then he used the extra scene to give more depth to Tomei’s character.
