Vivien Leigh
Just like some of the people on the list, Vivien Leigh has said that she needed to overcome her natural beauty since it often overshadowed her acting skills. True enough, a director once described her to be a “consummate actress, hampered by beauty.” Even though she earned the most popularity for her roles in A Streetcar Named Desire and Gone with the Wind, she actually enjoyed a more prolific career onstage than onscreen. She had to fight tuberculosis in the last couple of decades of her life, although she ultimately succumbed to the illness in 1967.
