Shocking Spillway
Spillways are structures that come in multiple sizes and shapes. The spillways you will find in Lake Berryessa are called the “bellmouth”. This kind of spillway has a function similar to the hole that we often see in our bathtub or sink. It keeps the water from spilling out onto the floor when we leave the water running. In the case of the water reservoir, the spillway functions as the “hole” that sucks in excess water during heavy and continuous rainfall.
