Mitsubishi has experienced a rough couple of years. You can attribute this to the fact that the nice design and high quality of their cars are not enough to attract more customers. The Outlander has not been immune to this problem. It might have experienced a 65% sales increase after getting a facelift, but the figures are still pretty bad. In Q1 of 2017, it only sold below 10,000 examples, only a tenth of the sales made by segment leaders. Despite this, it will still make for a great choice if you want a mid-sized SUV.

Volkswagen might have been a good seller before, but nowadays the Volkswagen Touareg has become one of the worst performing SUV in the American market. As you might have guessed, its downfall has been caused by the sales flops from Dieselgate. In Q1 of 2017, the Touareg sold only 802 copies. As time passes by, it continues to do poorly no matter how good of a car it is. With the Atlas on the way, there will surely be great deals on the Touareg in the near future.
