Richard Moves On
Obviously the loss of his sister was devastating, but in 1984 he took strides to build a family. He married his first cousin (she was adopted) and they had five children. One of their children is Mindi Karen, and another child received the name of Kristi Lynn – the name Karen wanted for her own child.

A Living Legacy
The Carpenter family founded the “Carpenter Memorial Foundation”, which raised funds for extensive research on eating disorders and anorexia nervosa, in particular. With time the name of the organization changed, and it took on new funding projects like education, entertainment and the arts. The name is now the “Carpenter Family Foundation”.
