Karen’s last public appearance took place on December 17th, 1982. The gig was done at the Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California. Her performance of signing Christmas carols was done for her godchildren and their friends and classmates.

Karen Carpenter’s life was the subject of a CBS biographical movie called “The Karen Carpenter Story.” It showed her struggles with her disease, controlling family, and fame. The tribute even received a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award.
