The movie might have been a tear-jerker, but there were some false truths in it. One example is the scene where Karen’s mother tells her that she loves her. The truth is that no-one has any recollection of her mother ever telling her that.

The Carpenters received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in October 1983. The solo album was also released 13 years after her death. Karen may have passed away, but the duo’s music and influence survived the test of time and continue to make a difference in the world.
