Originally, the tearoom served a different purpose. When it was built, it was meant to be the space for the garden staff to cut and arrange flowers. However, Oprah decided to turn it into a relaxing room where she could have some tea. She didn’t want there to be any distractions in the room, so it has no television or digital devices.
