The Doors were starting to see a lot of success. In fact, they were even offered a lucrative deal with the car company, Buick. Buick wanted to use their song, “Light My Fire” for a car commercial. Everyone in the band agreed, but Morrison flipped out upon hearing their request. They wanted to change the lyrics to, “Come on Buick, light my fire.” Thus, they cancelled the Buick deal at the last minute.

Yogi Helped Bring The Band Together
The famous yogi, Maharishi can be thanked for bringing together part of the band. Apparently, Ray Manzarek and John Densmore met for the first time in one of his transcendental meditation classes in Santa Monica. Maybe you’ve heard of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi because later on, The Beatles actually went to India in 1968 to study under him.
