Apparently, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison met one night at a party when producer Paul Rothschild sort of threw them together. Morrison continued to get more intoxicated and despite the initial attraction between the two, he became a nuisance. Some stories say he tried to force her head into his lap, while others claim he followed her to her car and grabbed her by the hair. Either way, all the stories have the ending in common…Janis Joplin broke a bottle of Southern Comfort over Jim Morrison’s head and knocked him out.

Now, here’s a random fact involving both the band and actor Harrison Ford. Way back when, Harrison Ford was working as a carpenter. Actually, even once he got his part as Han Solo in 1977 he was still a full-time carpenter! Anyway, it was 1968 and a young Harrison Ford helped The Doors lug all of their filming equipment for their taping of Live At The Hollywood Bowl.
